In a joint venture with Terra Engineers, GeoPentech has performed a safety review of the Camanche Reservoir embankments. The review included a 170-foot high zoned earth dam (Comanche Dam) and six dikes ranging in height from 40 to 90 feet, for a total embankment length of 4.4 miles. Key issues addressed included potential piping within the embankments, potential instability associated with uplift pressures, and large deformations that could be induced by liquefaction of tailings beneath the main dam.
